Ali Vs Tyson
The greatest of their era. These heavyweight kings would be one of the greatest match ups in boxing history ever. No man has ever stepped to the ring with much finess, swiftness, and agility like Ali. Coined as "The Greatest" with his "Fly like a butter fly and sting like a bee". Ali could take the bull power of Frazier, Liston, and Foreman and match up with his nimbleness, blinding speed, and endurance all the way to 12 rounds plus. Ali also had the upperhand because he was skilled to attack while being backed up with the uncanny ability to dodge fast punches.
However, Tyson in his prime and peak-a-boo style would brutally eat opponents alive much bigger than Ali as early in the first few rounds with tremendous instant knock out power and slugging force. He was shorter than most of Ali's opponents allowing him to work inside of Ali more successfully that prior opponents.
Ali had a hard time matching up with shorter opponents as seen with Frazier.Tyson was known for his power but his speed was under rated. Even Foreman who shared power with Tyson was unmatched with Tyson's lightning speed. Tyson possessed unnatural speed for a heavyweight his size and girth and used that to muder boxers in the first few rounds. Tyson's power and speed would only kick in if Ali didn't tactifully keep his distance and after he got passed the murderous razor sharp jabs Ali would execute and didn't allow his impatience to throw the fight. That's what Ali strives for against power opponents. Also, Tyson's power was only exhibited with less skilled fighters (nontheless, Bruno, Ruddock, Spinks, and Tucker had impressive records) but when he matched up with taller and skilled fighters like Lennox and Holyfield he was outboxed and defeated.
Prime Tyson under Demato would certainly stand a chance against Ali. Ali had lost to Frazier the first time. Frazier had the power and stamina but didn't have the defense like Tyson. Foreman had the power but didn't have the speed like Tyson. So someone with the combination of speed, power, and defense such as Tyson would certainly test Ali. lIf Tyson doesn't knock Ali out within the first 5 rounds, Tyson is in trouble. Iron Mike has never faced an opponent with great speed and stamina like Ali. But if Ali only relied on his movement and let his guards down like he normally does in a fight, this would be the end of him.
Would Ali's tactics, speed, and endurance be enough to fend off and gas out Tyson, eventually defeating him or would Tyson get the best of Ali by finishing him off early with power bomb blows?
